Starting from November 22, 2023, United passengers traveling to the USA via Frankfurt can book their train journey to the airport, transatlantic flight, and connecting flights in the USA under a single fare and ticket. This partnership is based on the “Intermodal Partnership” model of the Star Alliance, which integrates flying with train travel, buses, and other modes of transportation. Travelers will benefit from features such as unified boarding passes, priority baggage handling, and mileage accrual in the United MileagePlus program. In case of delays, eligible passengers also have access to Deutsche Bahn lounges.
